VIDEO: Kansas City Chiefs' DT Tershawn Wharton Catches A Small Child Falling From The Bleachers

So close. Those parents were so close to suing mega-loser, Carolina Panther's owner David Tepper for ____ dollars for failing to extend the safety railing all the way to the corner of the bleachers. Their eyes probably turned into big ol' $$ signs as they watched their beautiful aryan boy go ankles up over the front row of Bank of America Stadium. If only the field wasn't crawling with 96 of the greatest, most athletic, sure-handed, quickest reaction time human beings in the entire world. Humans whose entire job is to make sure the bank accounts of men like David Tepper continue growing at an almost impossible rate.

Sorry, that's the cynical way to look at it. Every time I see a potential accident happen, my mind immediately goes to the money. I've blogged about scenarios like that so much that if I ever actually find myself in a position to sue a billionaire, his/her (most likely 'his' statistically) attorneys will be able to pull up a hundred instances of me publicly stating how it's my life's goal to trap someone like him into that exact situation, and I'll wind up with nothing. 

I suppose the parents were probably thankful that Tershawn Wharton saved their small child from a potentially life-altering injury. They'll probably take having to pay for their kid's college in exchange for him to not be in a neck brace. They want their child to be physically capable of playing competitive football himself someday. Where he'll be able to injure his brain the good old fashioned way. Via a series of hundreds of smaller, repetitive blows to his head. Instead of blowing it all at once. I'm sure down the road there will be some sort of class-action lawsuit for him to join as a result of that anyways.

Credit to Tershawn Wharton. He did a fine job saving this child from negligent David Tepper's death trap of a stadium. He's a fantastic citizen. Not nearly as good of a citizen as he is a football player. But remember, in order to be that, he'd have to be one of the 300 best citizens in the world. Probably better. He's very good at football
